Die linearen Wegmesssysteme der Serie GS sind präzise Messsysteme für lineare Bewegungen. Die mechanische Konstruktion der Abtasteinheit ist mit Miniaturkugellagern mit selbstständiger Führung ausgeführt, welche die Unebenheiten der Maschinenführung infolge von ungenauer Montage bzw. Abnutzung ausgleicht.
Der Abtastkopf liest zwischen einem Gummilippenpaar, das den empfindlichen Teil des Systems vor Beschädigung und anderen Einflüssen, z.B. Kühlmittel, schützt.
