Undoped electrodes � consist of pure tungsten. The main area of application for this type of electrode is the
AC welding of aluminium alloys with excellent arc stability. The WP-electrodes are not suitable for DC welding.

Cerium tungsten electrodes consist of a minimum of 97.30 percent tungsten and 1.80 to 2.20 percent cerium. These electrodes achieve the best results in DC welding at low currents, but if used skillfully, they can be used in AC processes. They are best used for welding carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel and titanium alloys, and in some cases they can replace 2 percent thoriated electrodes.
