Description

Professional inverter welding machine FORBY® TIG 200MX AC/DC
This is a modern inverter pulse TIG/MMA welding machine built for precise welding of stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, titanium and other non-ferrous metals. AC/DC modes, pulse TIG, HF high-frequency arc ignition and a wide range of parameter settings let you achieve professional weld quality both in the workshop and in your home garage.
Key advantages:
- AC/DC TIG and MMA modes - suitable for steel, stainless steel, aluminium, titanium alloys and more.
- Pulse TIG - ideal for thin sheets and stainless steel.
- HF high-frequency ignition - convenient contactless arc ignition.
- Foot pedal connector - for controlling the welding current with your foot.
- Overvoltage, overload and overheating protection - for safety and long service life.

The welding machine is an inverter type and uses advanced IGBT technology. The inverter converts the 50Hz/60Hz AC voltage from the mains into DC voltage, which is then converted back into AC voltage by a high-frequency (20 kHz) converter.
IGBT technology allows efficient control of welding parameters, ensures a stable arc and reduces energy losses.
Main features of the machine
TIG modes (DC / AC / PULSE TIG)
Current range:
DC TIG: 10-200 A
AC TIG: 10-200 A
Ignition:
HF high-frequency ignition (AC/DC TIG)
LIFT-TIG (DC TIG)
AC TIG ignition with reverse polarity improves arc starting
Available TIG modes:
DC TIG
DC PULSE TIG
AC TIG (square wave)
AC PULSE TIG
Additional functions:
Arc-Break Prevention - HF maintains the arc if it breaks
Short-circuit protection when the tungsten touches the workpiece
Foot pedal control option (5-pin connector)

Control panel and functionality:
The front control panel lets you select the operating mode (HF TIG, Lift TIG, MMA, GAS), 2T/4T, Cold Weld and VRD functions, and precisely set the main parameters: start current, peak current, pulse base current, pulse frequency and width, AC frequency, AC balance, gas pre-flow and post-flow, crater current and more.
- AC FREQUENCY 40-200 Hz - to control weld width and penetration.
- AC BALANCE 20-80 % - balance between oxide cleaning and penetration for aluminium.
- Pre Flow / Post Flow - gas flow before and after welding.
- Up / Down Slope - smooth current start and finish.
- Hot Start, Arc Force (MMA) - easier electrode ignition and a more stable arc.
DC TIG - grind the tungsten to a cone shape (concentrated arc, deep penetration).
AC TIG for aluminium - slightly rounded tungsten tip; adjust the AC balance according to the oxides.
Argon 99.99 % - recommended gas; typical flow rate 6-10 l/min.
Up/Down Slope and Crater Current help prevent craters at the start and end of the weld.
Main specifications of the welding machine:
The TIG 200MX ACDC welding machine operates in both TIG (AC/DC) and MMA modes, has a high 68 V open-circuit voltage for easy arc ignition, and wide current ranges: TIG 10-200 A, MMA 10-180 A. The machine complies with EN 60974-1/10 standards, is powered from a 230 V mains supply and has an IP21S protection rating. Duty cycles are good for its class: 200 A at 60 % in TIG mode and 180 A at 60 % in MMA mode, which means stable operation at higher currents without overheating.
Current characteristics:
- Current range: 10 A - 200 A
- Voltage at 10 A: 10.4 V
- Voltage at 200 A: 18 V
Duty cycle:
- 60% load: 200 A
- 100% load: 155 A
(the duty cycle indicates how long the machine can operate without overheating within a 10-minute cycle)

Compact and mobile -Easy to carry and easy to fit onto a welding cart. Weight approx. 9.2 kg according to the technical data.
Robust and durable construction - The powder-coated housing resists scratches, corrosion and intensive daily use.
Clear and functional control panel - Bright digital display and convenient controls for TIG ACDC parameters: AC/AC balance, AC frequency, pulse settings, HF ignition.
Convenient top carrying handle - The machine is lightweight (9.2 kg), so it is easy to carry between workstations.
Protected electronics areas - Protection against overvoltage, undervoltage, overload and overheating - the electronics are protected from damage and separated from the gas and heat zones.
Efficient cooling and IP21S protection rating - Fan cooling and IP21S protection (provides resistance to moisture and household dust).
Suitable for use in dry environments, but not outdoors in the rain.
Heavy-duty 35-50 type connectors - Sturdy industrial connectors ensure good contact and stable current transfer.

QUICK AND CONVENIENT GAS HOSE CONNECTION
1. The integrated quick gas coupling lets you connect or disconnect the gas hose quickly and easily. This shortens the machine's setup time and makes it easier to move and transport.
2. Supplied with a 3-metre pressure-resistant gas hose with a quick coupling on the machine side. The optimal hose length gives you more freedom to position the welding machine and gas cylinder conveniently at the workplace.
STURDY CONNECTORS DESIGNED FOR HIGHER LOADS
Heavy-duty 35-50 type welding cable connectors ensure reliable contact and stable current transfer. Properly connected and locked connectors help reduce contact resistance, connector heating and energy losses at the connection points.
Convenient cable connection when working in TIG and MMA modes. The heavy-duty connectors allow welding cables to be connected securely and disconnected easily when changing the operating mode or preparing the machine for transport or storage.
FORBY welding equipment focuses on quality, durability and ease of use, which is why the FORBY® TIG 200MX AC/DC uses heavy-duty 35-50 type cable connectors - a practical solution for everyday welding work.
