Welding Machine HORNEC® MASTER-TIG iQ 200 AC/DC PFC

AC/DC TIG welding up to 200 A, PFC power factor correction and a 5-inch LCD display - for precisely controlled work with aluminium, steel and stainless steel.

HORNEC® MASTER-TIG iQ 200 AC/DC PFC is an inverter welding machine combining AC and DC TIG welding with MMA welding using coated electrodes. It is a versatile choice for metalworking workshops, repair work and tasks where weld pool control and a neat seam matter.

The integrated PFC function improves the power factor and helps make more efficient use of the mains supply capacity. MIX AC/DC, COLD WELD, HF ignition and 2T / 4T / 8T control extend the machine's range of applications, while the included 4-metre TIG-26 torch provides a comfortable working distance.

  • TIG AC/DC and MMA: for different materials and welding tasks.
  • PFC: power factor correction that reduces additional load on the mains supply.
  • HF and Lift TIG: two TIG arc ignition methods.
  • 5-inch LCD display: for convenient parameter viewing and settings selection.
  • Remote control capability: support for compatible torch control and foot pedal.
  • 230 V single-phase power supply.

Practical benefits of PFC

More efficient use of supply capacity

A better power factor allows the same active power to be delivered with a lower RMS input current.

Lower load on the supply circuit

PFC helps reduce the additional current load on cables and supply equipment caused by a poor power factor.

Less input current distortion

Power factor correction helps limit the impact of harmonic currents on the mains supply.

PFC does not guarantee a specific percentage of electricity savings and does not replace a properly sized electrical installation. The supply circuit must comply with the machine's user manual and its input current data.

PFC - what is it and how does it help in welding?

PFC (Power Factor Correction) is an electronic function that corrects the shape of the current drawn from the mains so that the supply capacity is used more efficiently.

Simply put, what matters is not only how much power the machine uses, but also how it draws that power from the mains. PFC helps reduce the additional load caused by distorted input current.

At the same active input power and supply voltage, a better power factor means a lower RMS current drawn from the mains compared to a device with a lower power factor.

One machine - different welding methods

TIG AC - for aluminium

AC welding is intended for aluminium and its alloys. Alternating polarity helps break up the surface oxide layer in the weld zone and form the weld pool. Proper workpiece preparation is important for a quality result.

TIG DC - for steel and stainless steel

DC welding with a non-consumable tungsten electrode in a shielding gas atmosphere. Suitable for work requiring precise arc control, a controlled weld pool and a neat joint appearance.

MMA - stick electrode welding

Welding with coated electrodes without an external shielding gas supply. A practical option for repair, installation and general metal welding work. Hot Start and Arc Force functions help ignite and maintain the arc.

HORNEC MASTER-TIG iQ 200 AC/DC PFC su 5 colių LCD ekranu

5-inch LCD display and remote control

The 5-inch LCD display allows convenient viewing of the selected mode and welding parameters. Clear presentation of settings helps you prepare for work and adjust the process as tasks change.

The machine supports remote control via a compatible torch and foot pedal. This provides additional control options during work.

The foot pedal is not included in the specified scope of delivery. Compatibility of additional control accessories should be checked before purchase.

EMC - electromagnetic compatibility

In the supplier's specification this machine is listed as a PFC and EMC version. EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) refers to a device's ability to operate properly in an electromagnetic environment without causing unacceptable interference to other devices.

This is relevant in workshops where measuring instruments, computers or other electronic equipment operate near the welding machine.

EMC does not mean a complete absence of interference. Especially when using HF ignition, it is important to follow the manufacturer's installation, connection and cable routing recommendations.

MIX AC/DC - combining alternating and direct current

MIX AC/DC mode combines AC and DC phases in a single TIG welding process. This provides additional options for adapting the welding process to the task at hand.

This mode complements standard TIG AC and TIG DC welding. Its settings are selected according to the machine menu, the user manual and the properties of the material being welded.

COLD WELD - additional TIG operating mode

The machine features a COLD WELD function that complements its TIG welding capabilities. This mode can be selected according to the needs of a specific task and the settings offered by the machine.

The name COLD WELD does not mean welding without heat - the joint is still formed by an electric arc. The application and parameters of the mode should be selected according to the machine's user manual.

2T, 4T and 8T torch control modes

Choose the torch trigger control according to seam length, type of work and preferred process control.

2T

Welding takes place while the torch trigger is held down. Convenient for short seams and work with frequent stops.

4T

There is no need to keep the torch trigger pressed during welding. Convenient for welding longer seams.

8T

An additional multi-stage torch control mode. The exact trigger press sequence and controlled stages are defined in the machine's user manual.

HF ignition - without electrode contact

HF - high-frequency TIG arc ignition. The arc is ignited without the tungsten electrode touching the workpiece, which reduces the likelihood of electrode contamination from contact.

This is convenient for precision work and when frequently starting a new seam. The machine also features Lift TIG ignition - the arc is started by briefly touching the workpiece and lifting the electrode.

Hot Start and Arc Force - assistance for stick welding

In MMA mode, the welding current is selected in the 10-200 A range. Additional functions help control arc ignition and arc behaviour.

  • Hot Start: a short-term current boost during arc ignition that makes starting the weld easier.
  • Arc Force: an arc dynamics function that helps maintain the arc as it shortens and reduces the likelihood of the electrode sticking.

Quick and convenient gas hose connection

1. The integrated quick gas connector allows the gas hose to be connected or disconnected easily and quickly. This shortens machine setup time and makes moving and transporting it easier.

2. A 3-metre pressure-resistant gas hose is included with a quick connector on the machine side. The optimal hose length gives more freedom to conveniently position the welding machine and gas cylinder at the workplace.

ROBUST CONNECTORS DESIGNED FOR HIGHER LOADS

Large 35-50 welding cable connectors ensure reliable contact and stable current transfer. They are designed for higher loads and help reduce connector heating and energy losses. Compared to budget-class machines, which more often use 10-25 connectors, 35-50 welding cable connectors provide an additional reliability margin.

The standard EURO connector for the TIG torch combines welding current, gas, wire feed and control contacts in a single connection. The torch can be quickly connected, disconnected or easily replaced with another MIG torch, while the threaded lock ensures a secure connection during work.

HORNEC® welding equipment focuses on quality, durability and convenient use, which is why even compact machines feature higher-spec solutions such as large 35-50 cable connectors and a universal EURO connector for the TIG torch
