Hornec® MASTER-MIG iQ 200 Double Pulse welding machine
Description

Welding machine HORNEC® MASTER-MIG iQ 200 Double Pulse
Up to 200 A, single and double MIG pulse, 5-inch LCD display - more options for different welding jobs.
This welding machine combines conventional MIG/MAG, pulsed MIG, double pulse MIG, MMA and Lift-TIG DC welding. It is a practical choice for metal fabrication workshops, repair work and tasks where convenient parameter control and a neat weld appearance matter.
The included 24KD MIG torch, set up for aluminium wire, and the steel wire guide accessories allow you to adapt the machine to different jobs by selecting the right wire, gas and welding settings.
- Single and double MIG pulse: for controlling the welding process and bead formation.
- 5-inch LCD display: for a clear view of the parameters.
- 15 JOB memory slots: for saving frequently used settings.
- 1 kg and 5 kg wire spools: for jobs of different scale.
- 230 V single-phase power supply.
Advanced IGBT inverter technology
The IGBT inverter design allows efficient adjustment of welding parameters, helps maintain a stable arc and reduces energy losses.
- digital parameter control;
- stable DC arc;
- overheating and overcurrent protection;
- active fan cooling;
- compact housing for home workshops.
Double Pulse - more bead shaping options
Single pulse MIG mode alternates the welding current between peak and base values. Properly selected settings help control metal transfer and reduce spatter.
Double pulse mode additionally varies the intensity of the pulsed process. This gives more control over the weld pool and helps form a rhythmic, scale-like bead surface.
These capabilities are especially useful when welding aluminium and for work where the appearance of the joint matters. The result depends on workpiece preparation, wire, shielding gas, parameters and welding technique.

One machine - different welding processes
MIG/MAG
Welding with fed wire in a shielding gas atmosphere. The standard DC MIG/MAG mode is suitable for everyday fabrication and repair work, while single and double pulse expand process control options.
MMA
Welding with coated electrodes without an external shielding gas supply. Adjustable Hot Start and Arc Force functions help adapt the arc to the selected electrode.
Lift-TIG DC
DC welding with a non-consumable tungsten electrode. The arc is ignited by touching the workpiece and lifting the electrode. A compatible TIG torch (sold separately) and an argon supply are required.

5-inch LCD display and 15 settings memory slots
The large LCD display lets you conveniently view the selected mode and welding parameters. Clearly visible settings help you prepare for work and adjust the process as the task changes.
15 JOB memory slots are intended for saving frequently used setting sets. When returning to a repetitive job, the tuned parameters can be recalled from memory.
This is convenient when you regularly weld workpieces of different thickness or change the wire and welding task.
EMC - electromagnetic compatibility
This welding machine is listed in the supplier specification as an EMC version. The abbreviation EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) refers to the ability of a device to function properly in its electromagnetic environment without causing unacceptable interference to other devices.
In a workshop, computers, measuring instruments and other electronic equipment may operate near the welding machine. Therefore both EMC aspects are important: limiting the electromagnetic interference emitted by the machine and its immunity to external interference.
EMC does not mean the complete absence of interference - it is important to follow the installation, connection and cable routing recommendations given in the operating manual.
1 kg and 5 kg wire spools - according to the scope of work
The welding machine accepts 1 kg and 5 kg welding wire spools. A smaller spool is convenient for occasional jobs, while a larger one allows longer work without changing it.
The set includes a 0.8-1.0 mm V-groove feed roller for steel wire, a steel wire inlet guide and a steel torch liner.
The 24KD MIG torch is set up for aluminium wire. When changing the wire material or diameter, the feed roller, wire liner and contact tip must be matched accordingly.

2T, 4T, S2T, S4T and SPOT modes
Choose the torch control mode according to the weld length and the task at hand.
2T
Welding takes place while the torch trigger is held down. Convenient for short welds and frequent stops.
4T
There is no need to hold the trigger continuously during welding. Convenient for longer welds.
S2T / S4T
Additional torch control modes, selected according to the settings offered in the machine menu.
SPOT
MIG spot welding function for short weld spots and tack welding of parts.

Adjustable functions for electrode welding
In MMA mode the welding current is adjustable within the 10-200 A range. Additional functions help adapt arc ignition and arc behaviour to the selected task.
- Hot Start: adjustable short-term current boost during arc ignition.
- Arc Force: adjustable arc dynamics that help maintain the arc as it shortens.
- VRD: open-circuit voltage reduction function.

Quick and convenient gas hose connection
1. The integrated quick gas coupling allows the gas hose to be connected or disconnected easily and quickly. This shortens the machine setup time and makes moving and transporting it easier.
2. A 3-metre pressure-resistant gas hose is included with a quick coupling on the machine side. The optimal hose length gives more freedom to conveniently position the welding machine and gas cylinder at the workplace.
- Hose length: 3 m.
- Inner diameter: 6 mm.
- Outer diameter: 13 mm.
- Quick coupling size: NW 5.0.
ROBUST CONNECTORS DESIGNED FOR HIGHER LOADS
Large 35-50 welding cable connectors ensure reliable contact and stable current transfer. They are designed for higher loads and help reduce connector heating and energy losses. Compared to budget-class machines, which more often use 10-25 connectors, 35-50 welding cable connectors provide an additional reliability margin.
The standard EURO connector for the MIG torch combines welding current, gas, wire feed and control contacts in a single connection. The torch can be quickly connected, disconnected or easily replaced with another MIG torch, and the threaded lock ensures a secure connection during work.
HORNEC® welding equipment focuses on quality, durability and ease of use, which is why even compact machines feature higher-specification solutions such as large 35-50 cable connectors and a universal EURO connector for the MIG torch.

Important before starting work
- Read the operating manual. Select the power connection, cable polarity and welding settings according to the chosen process and materials used.
- Prepare the workplace. Ensure proper ventilation, remove flammable materials and use a welding helmet, gloves and protective clothing.
- Protect the machine from rain and moisture. The IP21S class does not mean the machine is intended for use in the rain. Do not cover the cooling vents.
- Match the wire feed accessories. The roller, wire liner and contact tip must correspond to the material and diameter of the wire used.
- Select a suitable shielding gas. Keep the cylinder upright and secured, use a suitable regulator and check that connections are tight.
- Lift-TIG work requires an additional torch. A TIG torch is not included in this set.
- Observe the duty cycle. 200 A current and 30 % duty cycle mean 3 minutes of welding and 7 minutes of cooling within a 10-minute period under the specified conditions.
- Before maintenance or changing connections, switch off the machine and disconnect it from the mains.
